Re: Oxford Tuesday

Poor display by Pompey tonight against a very ordinary uninspiring Oxford team . We could easily have lost the game, given the chances that Oxford had in the second half. We defend OK but have nothing to offer up front, I felt sorry for bishop who had no service whatsoever. There needs to be a lot o...

Re: Oxford Tuesday

One small point. it saddens me to see Pompey largely discarding their royal blue colours these days. Pompey's traditional colours are royal blue but we rarely see it nowadays. I dislike the use of brown and green more frequently,

Re: Oxford Tuesday

Boy this is such a poor game, free kick after free kick, to say its scrappy is being generous. Free kicks every minute or so, any constructive football is coming from Pompey. Only a superb free kick from Pack is worth recording. We should surely beat Oxford , they are terrible, but we are not much b...

Re: Shrewsbury

Its all down to budget, there's no other way to succeed in football. You need the best players and since Mandaric we have continued to under-fund and the consequences are all too clear. These current owners of ours are clearly unable or unwilling to come up with adequate funding to enable us to be t...

Re: League One Players wages

Its ridiculous to see Scarlett earning £12K pw with the other players averaging only one-third of that, many on £3-4K per week in comparison. I realise that he's here on loan and this is Tottenham's figure but his output goal-wise etc in return does not match it.

Re: Over-rated players

Blue walter is right, we do appear to have an excess of players with an injury history which have a habit of re-ocurring. Surely the club must carefully examine any potential signing's injury record first. Many current players certainly seem to bring injury histories with them which subsequently cro...

Over-rated players

Old habits die hard and for some reason we take 'The News' evening paper at home and being a big Pompey fan my eyes are soon fixed on the back pages for all the latest news on the boys in blue. I have to say that I am desperate to let go of this dreadful habit because its causing me so much irritati...

Re: Peterborough

Just watched the 'highlights' of yesterday's game a couple of times. One thing that stood out for me was our abysmal defending. Our defenders just don't get the tackles in or 'closing down' necessary in and around the penalty area. Its so easy for the opposition attackers to get through most times. ...

Re: Fleetwood

Much the better side tonight and should have scored earlier but didn't show any cutting edge to our play. Were finally awarded with what looked like an own goal but has been credited to Bishop surprisingly. Our approach work is good but Bishop is disappointing in that he is so easily knocked off the...

Re: Proposed protest on Saturday

I completely support this protest and its long overdue. Through their lack of adequate recruitment financing for Cowley and insistence on penny-pinching through the continued use of loanees, the owners have presided this season over a situation where the club has slipped into the bottom half of the ...

Re: Pompey Christmas Party

They're hurt, but we're suffering too. This is nothing personal, no fan has surely got anything against Cowley. The fact is for some reason its obvious that its simply not working. It will be sad if he stays and things turn nasty . That needs to be avoided but making the change now.

Surely if you are so heavily left footed with only rare use of the right foot, then surely its going to affect your play in certain situations. Professional player must be two-footed surely.

Re: Stevenage game

One player not mentioned in our posts about last night v. Stevenage is our keeper Oluwayemi. He really impressed me last night with his handling, agility, anticipation, diving etc. Its a shame that he has not had an opportunity in the league this season so far. On the flipside I was disappointed wit...
