Re: Rotherham
Last night George Hirst had a point to prove against a team where he had been on loan and had done nothing. He now needs to perform at that level in every game. While all our players performed well, he was outstanding. Early in the season I thought he was less than average but he has steadily improv...

Re: Next seasons squad
Agree we need a forward line, Would like to sign O'Brein as he reads the game well, has good positional sense and at this level could play the role Teddy Sherringham did in happier times. However, to get decent forwards and forward thinking midfield additions costs money and currently see little evi...

Re: Team for Mk Dons
Admittedly the game, particularly the first half, was not too good. However, so much could change if we can get in a decent forward in the next week or two. So, lets not write the season off yet. I notice quite a few people displaying anti-Cowley feelings. I agree he could do better but he can not b...

Re: Christmas
Family around Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, with the Men off to watch Pompey on Boxing Day! Of course, I am assuming the game is on and that we are not in a 'covid passport' queue until half time! Anyway, as Slade would say.............Merry Christmas Everybody ! By the way, I like that and quite a...

Re: Christian Burgess
An intelligent man as well as player but Jackett was not bright enough to have him down as first choice at the back and so you can not blame him for moving on. If DC had been here it might have been different but who knows. Anyway, good luck to him.

Re: Owls Fan Perspective
Was a good game with a decent atmosphere. Around 1500 Wednesday fans who contributed to the evening. Similar sort of numbers Pompey would take on a decent away trip although on a Tues night, an impressive figure. Goes without saying that the Wednesday keeper was the star of the evening. Pompey and W...

Re: Can we buy George Hirst please?
Agree we desperately need a decent striker. Would be good to keep Hirst to see if DC and games can develop him further, but at present he does not score enough goals to turn us into a team that could make the play-offs. Moving the likes of Harrison and Downing on should free up enough in wages and i...

Re: Ipswitch sack Cook
I would think a few players may be moved on in the Jan Window when a new manager tries to shape a team. Pigott might be available but I expect even a cut price deal would be too much for us. Still, maybe a free transfer or two DC fancies could come up. Anyone know of any likely candidates?

'What a disgraceful way of thinking. You're on the road to facism[ Comments like that above are offensive and unacceptable. People are allowed to express their views and if someone does not support the use of vaccines, that is up to them but it does not give them the right to call someone who oppose...

Re: Defensive line up for Saturday
I guess it depends on whether we play 3 or 4 at the back, but think that it could well be Freeman, Williams and Ogilvie if we play 3 at the back with Romeo and Brown as wing backs. If a 4, then Romeo, Williams, Ogilvie and Brown would be my guess.

Re: RIP Frank Burrows
RIP Frank. 'One Frankie Burrows........' ! When asked a year or so ago for my favourite moments supporting Pompey, that game at Northampton was in my top three along with the likes of the Wembley FA Cup win and that Milan game at Fratton. When asked to name my top three Pompey managers, Frank Burrow...

Re: Dan Cowley
My view is that the Cowleys need more time before we judge them. Also, we do not know which decisions are made by them and which are forced on them. Particularly who made the decisions ref which players were released on free transfers last summer . If we still had Whatmough and he had added Romeo, w...

Re: Pompey vs Lincoln
Terrific performance but Lincoln are at best an average side with a choice players missing making them have to play a young inexperienced lad up front, so we should not get too carried away. However, you can only beat what is in front of you! A lot is being made of Hirst's performance but, for me, h...

Re: Baz or Bass?
Has to be Bass. If not, what message does that send to him and others? Bazunu will leave at the end of the season, Bass might want to be off too if he gets dropped after that last performance.

Re: Line up v Wycombe
Quite rightly, a lot of positivity ref Bass, but what about Hirst? I could not get to the game but whenever I have seen Hirst he has not looked to have much to offer. I saw his contribution to the goal, good running into the channel, took the ball well, crossed perfectly. Could not have done anythin...
