Re: Last Night
Pete, You have rather exaggerated what I said and even put words in that I never used, I never even mentioned relegation or that they just rolled over. I am sorry that I don't particularly share your veiw and it is less rosey than how you saw the game. On the night Burton were weak and didn't appea...

Re: Last Night
At the same time it has to remembered we were playing a very weak side who were clearly short on motivation. A very weak side who were above us in the league table going into the game and comfortably ahead of us in the recent form table? Not saying we were brilliant, but don't think it's really fai...

Agree with what you're both saying - and also enjoy reading Bill's reports when I can't make games

Re: Last Night
I’m sorry but Curtis was obliged to play in a position totally alien to what he has ever played and had it not been for 2 very good saves by their keeper he would have still scored, he presented more of a threat than either of the so called strikers signed by Cowley and gave 100 percent to the caus...

Re: Lee Brown - comments
Unfortunately our current manager has bought into this so called plan but anyone who looked at his record at other clubs would have realized his utter reliance on loans and short term contracts he had never build a team with on eye to long term growth, just juggled within the loan system to create ...

Re: Recruitment team
It would be interesting just where our budget sits in a budget league table. I would suggest a top 8, perhaps. Reading between the lines, I think it's fair to say that we unquestionably had a top six playing budget under Jackett but it appears to now be just a top half budget (partly because other ...

Re: Central midfielders
Was reading something before the Charlton game that suggested he'd be in the squad for Oxford - whether he's ready to start or anywhere near match fitness is another question.Betelgeuse wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 5:22 pm Bizzare. I wonder how far off Tunnicliffe is from returning.

Re: Charlton
Morrell looked a cut above most of what we had out there tonight. Impressed by the first look at Hume though, looked lively.

Re: Transfer window
Being reported that we're confident of signing an experienced forward today. No idea who I'm afraid! Looks like we are still in for a midfielder as well, with an apparent failed enquiry for Lewis Wing (Middlesborough attacking midfielder, currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday) as well as still co...

Re: Transfer window
Looks like we're looking to get two more in today - a midfielder (presumably Lindsay) and an attacking player.

Re: Farewell Lee Brown??
A real shame to see Lee go, been a great servant to us and some great memories, not least smashing his penalty home at Wembley in front of us! Tend to agree with Walter though, it might end up being a good move for everyone in the long run - he's got more security and probably doesn't have to move h...

Re: Farewell Lee Brown??
I agree with Pompey55 that when Curtis played as a conventional winger, his best and most effective position in my opinion, he & Brown had a very good understanding. I didn't think that Brown's crossing ability was particularly good or bad. Players able to cross well seem to have avoided Pompey...
