Re: Ipswich in for Morrell

Reminds me of the tactics employed by Rangers in the 90s. Buy the best player(s) at other SPL clubs (except Celtic), with no intention of playing them, just dump them in the reserves so that they couldn't play for the opposition.

Re: Millwall Game

Not sure of the rules with regard to first team players, etc., but I assume that we will play as many reserves tomorrow at Millwall as possible. From the competition regulations... 6.5 Each Club shall play its full available strength in and during all Cup Competition matches , unless some satisfact...

Re: Millwall Game

I am going, but this is very much a ground ticking exercise for me as I have never been to Millwall before (away club number 95). Despite watching live, I won't be at all worried if we lose, so happily see a few reserves playing, as far as our squad allows. As you suggest JT, we don't have the squad...

I've seen this mentioned a few times, but is it even allowed? Would appreciate input from someone who knows about football contracts and the legal position.

Re: Update on Shaun Williams and Ronan Curtis

Wish Maddy and Ronan all the best; a terrible thing to happen. Cowley actually said that Williams' back went as he picked up his child, and then it stiffened up on the coach journey. So could be a bit more serious than just stiffness from sitting awkwardly for so long. (This is why PL teams fly ever...

Re: Jacobs bid accepted.

It seems to me that by selling Jacobs it would suggest that Curtis is staying. Also I would think that as Cowley wanted to keep Jacobs (or so he says) he has a grand plan in operation. We haven't got enough players as it is and selling one we do have is obviously a precursor to incoming replacement...

Re: Happy new season.

Just had a scan through the L1 fixture list for today, and realised that I have little to no idea as to the expectations or likely performance for any of those teams, including Pompey (maybe Ipswich the odd team out as we know what's required there). This season, even more than usual, I know nothing...

Re: Running! - Anyone on here run \ jog at all?

As the cycling boys & girls always say, "training doesn't get easier, you just go faster". On running, if you really are starting from zero, then it will get easier as you find a rhythm. Your breathing gets in tune with your leg movements, your form (style) improves and you actually fe...

There's going to be hell to pay if Ipswich don't get promoted this season.

I thought it was announced that members could by Crewe tickets from 6pm today? Website isn't letting me. Anyone have any insight as I can't seem to find info . Cheers I bought Crewe, Shrewsbury and Plymouth tickets yesterday (Wednesday). This was before I bought my season ticket, so was a flexi-sea...

Re: Louis Thompson

I'm with others on this MB liking the way Cowley isn't just signing a player to fill a gap (as it sometimes felt Jackett was). At times I thought Jackett would sign a player even if a gap didn't exist, and I was left thinking why? Like Redknapp, Jackett wasn't happy unless he had a squad of 30 play...

Re: So, how are things looking going into the season?

We need a good start and avoid too many injuries over the season. If we can do that, then play-offs are possible. If not, then mid-table looks the likely outcome. Overall, I am looking forward to the season, more so than for the last couple of years.
