Re: Italy v Spain
Big shout out again for the referee. From the first 10 minutes of the England Croatia match it was clear that UEFA had managed what the Premier League failed to do ie. allow referees to have discretion but generally favour keeping the game moving. It has been a breath of fresh air. Players are start...

Re: Stadiums at full capacity from July 19
The Wimbledon comment is interesting. I was in Court 1 last week and did indeed feel a bit vulnerable when the roof was closed. It is probably the closest I have been to unmasked strangers for months . Remember though, no one got into the grounds without either proof of double vaccination or a negat...

Re: England v Germany
Well done England!
It took Sterling nearly the whole game before he decided to pass forward to a teammate. Result........ a simple goal.
Luck with us for once.
So sad for Thomas Müller (not!)

A. Watched avidly on TV. Just turned 14 and imagined this was merely the first of many now that we had at last taken international competition seriously. You know how that turned out. Went on a 3 week school trip to France the next day. Our triumphal tour of French towns and cities singing of our su...

Re: Remember, Hands, Face, Space...
On the whole I think Hancock has done a pretty reasonable job . He has mainly been truthful and prioritised well when facing a fiendishly difficult situation. He has definitely been devious when faced with errors and, not surprisingly, failed to own up to misjudgments. I don’t think he is anywhere n...

Re: Ridiculous & Laughable. Take 2
Obviously disappointing for England but the 2 England players WERE in face to face contact for 20 minutes, so at risk by the rules. I guess the Scotland squad stuck to the same sort of distancing rules that other teams do, single rooms, separate seats on buses etc. So, judged less at risk. In my vie...

Re: England v Scotland
On paper England win easily but , as we know this will be played on (possibly wet ) grass not paper. Some of us remember June 1967 when the best team in the world lost at Wembley to a far better Scots team than you can imagine today. Be glad when it is done with. As an aside, from the snippets I saw...

Sums up my feelings exactly.
As an aside , this whole thread has by and large been full of mature comments not just black vs white ranting. Well done us!

Re: Who would you like to see win the playoffs?
Ignoring the next season question, I genuinely don’t care at all.
I have tried to block out last season, which for me was all over some weeks ago.
Does me entering a post contradict what I just wrote?

Re: FA cup
I agree, pleased for Leicester. I lived and worked in Leicestershire for a good few years and enjoyed lots of banter with loyal Foxes fans. I caught myself thinking back to 2004 when I viewed them as deadly rivals in avoiding the drop straight back down. I was so glad they were managed by that turni...

Re: Kenny Jackett - favourite to get the Leyton Orient job
A clear opinion at least.
Statistically KJ was one of our best ever.
Narrowly missed going up a couple of times.
Won us a Wembley final.
Genuine question: Would we have been happier with 4 seasons of attractive football and finishing 12th every time?

Re: Accrington Stanley
Sorry if this breaches forum protocol but as it was my first ever post I rather hoped for a bit more response. I think it is relevant to these discussions so I repeat my post. Hi all. Pompey fail again and I join the forum for the first time. No idea why one step follows the other. Somehow this feel...

Re: Cowley Brothers sign new Pompey deals
Hi all. Pompey fail again and I join the forum for the first time. No idea why one step follows the other. Somehow this feels a different fail than in previous seasons where we seemed to stumble at season’s end and narrowly miss what we ‘deserved ‘ Be honest, did anyone really believe we would see C...
