Great performance - Cowley got everything right, formation worked well, every player put in a shift. All very positive.

Okay, so it is easy to get carried away but that was a pretty sound performance today. In fact it was a very good performance and an outstanding result. Interestingly, 6 of the top 7 play each other on Saturday so another win away at Gillingham would certainly make things very tasty.

So the team that is only going one way unless the owners sack the manager and sell up appears to be going in exactly the other direction for some strange reason.

Quite incredible how things have turned round so quickly as was very doom and gloom just few weeks ago with quite a few calling management team to go which must admit looked a lost cause, how does everyone feel now ?
Re: Pompey vs Lincoln
Wow!
I was sure we wouldn’t see this sort of turnaround. The last month has been outstanding.
Well done all concerned.
Being in playoffs by New Year is a realistic objective. Some teams above us have games in hand so that will need a great run but let’s hope it happens.
Anyone know why things have gone so well?
Is it just the confidence that a couple of wins produces?
Have we happened on a successful set up by accident?
Is dropping Marquis the main factor?

You can see the confidence running through the side, and the work rate and pressing were outstanding tonight. For me Curtis was outstanding and a real menace. Deserved a goal for his outstanding contribution. Also Romeo had a great game. Harness came up with another finish and his game has gone up another level. Above all we are beginning to look like a team .

Re: Pompey vs Lincoln
For me confidence gives players an extra 10% in performance which makes a massive difference. Well done to Cowleys for giving them that confidence.

I feel like I did 3 weeks ago saying that things take time and that there was no point assuming we were being relegated in October

Whatever it is it seems to be working, but I suspect Marquis will find it difficult to get back on the teamsheet anytime soon. Great result tonight

Re: Pompey vs Lincoln
I also think players not feeling like they have to hand feed marquis taking a pop them self, also hirst when starting looks a 6/7 out of 10 when marquis was only a 3 or 4.
If we can get a 8 every game we could be looking good for a good run in!
