Re: Southsea Driveby
Well I watched it and didn't see a single person get shot.
It's not a very good drive-by imo

Re: Southsea Driveby
other noteables, if you obseved careully they were just finishing off the perdestrianisation of Palmerston Road. half the buildings that have been demolished in Elm Grove were still standing. Corperation and Southdown buses
In transition to the real me, Currently on hold after surgical review until I loose 10kg anyone got a hiding place for it hopefully will be fully the true me now in 2017.

Fab! I was 12 and some of this still seems quite new! The funny blue disabled car took me right back.

Yes I remember those all parked down one of the one way roads in Stamshaw I think it was. Never saw them anywhere else.Deadeye Dillon wrote:Fab! I was 12 and some of this still seems quite new! The funny blue disabled car took me right back.

That would have been, because George Hodges repaired them, later moved to Lynn Road.Pompski! wrote:Yes I remember those all parked down one of the one way roads in Stamshaw I think it was. That's not the George Hodges who became the Lord Mayor's chauffeur in the 90's is it?past memories wrote:That would have been, because George Hodges repaired them, later moved to Lynn Road.Pompski! wrote:Yes I remember those all parked down one of the one way roads in Stamshaw I think it was. Re: Southsea Driveby
I wouldn`t have thought so, because I remember a George Hodges motorcycle shop going back to the Forties. I think by that time he would have needed one of those little blue cars.
The shop was in London road in the sixties and seventies.

Re: Southsea Driveby
Not bombsites - demolition sites. The council compulsorily purchased hundreds of 2 up 2 down terraced houses in Somerstown and demolished them. Dreadful act of vandalism imho; they were very much like Fratton or Stamshow houses that survived this period.blue architect wrote:God I feel old.
Picked up on following
Just about every car was of British manufacture
Road on to Grove Road North not blocked off (can't remember road name)
Southsea Police Station
blue invalid carriage
No Pyramids, D-Day Museum, Sealife Centre
Mousetrap rollercoaster at Clarence pier
The original student accommodation building (new one is quite close to original)
No Gunwharf
No HMS Warrior
Whitbread brewery
Bomb sites still in Somerstown
and best of all THE TRICORN
Nice that he went straight back into the parking space he left, behind the Reliant Scimitar - remember them? -, after 37 minutes.
The road was (is) Outram Road.
The red Mercedes on the left as he turns into Albert Grove at about 2.20, is still there! I covet it every time I see it.
