Re: RIP Papa Bouba Diop
That's really sad news, and a horrible disease to afflict anyone let alone an athlete at such an age. RiP big man.

RIP Papa.
An absolute unit. The mobility of a steamroller but would challenge just as hard. But it was his aerial power in front of the back four where I thought he really excelled. If teams ran out of ideas and just lofted it forward, it was game over - he'd mop it up all game long.
A sad loss.

I seem to remember his nickname being the 'Wardrobe' and you could see why. I have visions of opposition players challenging him and just bouncing off him - just immovable. What a powerful strong presence in midfield and not a bad ball player either.

Also had a head like a threepenny bit; nobody had the foggiest idea which direction the ball was going when he headed the ball. Somehow this just endeared him to the FP crowd.streetrifle wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 11:12 am What a powerful strong presence in midfield and not a bad ball player either.
