Accrington Stanley
Well, the sun is shining in Berkshire, and I hope it is in Portsmouth.I don't think that I have felt so excited before a match since the first Checkatrade final. I am still trying to forget the last one! The only sad thing is that we can't be there - what an atmosphere there would have been.

Re: Accrington Stanley
In a way, Charlton winning on Tuesday did us a favour. It is unlikely that neither Oxford nor Charlton win, so we know that a draw is not going to be enough for Pompey; we have to try and win the game. The mission is simple; the execution not so easy.

Re: Accrington Stanley
The mentality for this game should be come out and convincingly win it in the first half, if we sit on a draw or a one goal lead I fear we will lose it. Comfortable lead in the first half is what we need.

Re: Accrington Stanley
Agreed. They have v good strikers and we will do very well to stop them scoring at least once. I think that we will need to score at least twice and probably more to win.Portchester PFC wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 9:40 am The mentality for this game should be come out and convincingly win it in the first half, if we sit on a draw or a one goal lead I fear we will lose it. Re: Accrington Stanley
Yes they have two good quality Strikers but their defence is rather leaky. We need to score early and then we will see how good they are!

Team: One change Jack in for Raggett, Downing keeps his place, Jordy on the bench!

Re: Accrington Stanley
I have been watching too much Champions League/Premiership football. I feel like I’m watching my village team. So depressing.

Stanley look up for it and motivated, we look uninterested and waiting for the season to end.

Re: Accrington Stanley
However, didn't Bishop take it well...we will never see Marquis do anything like it.
Afraid we are just not good enough...let's have a good clear out and start afresh. Take off Williams and Marquis for Byers and Hiwula, can't be worse.
