Re: Gillingham
Not much to talk about on the 1st half showing. Couple of early chances which required tremendous saves from the Gill's keeper. They've come back into the game since then without creating any real chances. Curtis getting knocked off the ball quite a lot and Hirst hasn't shown much so far.
Improvement needed 2nd half, the energy seems to be missing. Conditions are difficult I understand.

Re: Gillingham
For me I think Jacobs is proving to be at his best for us as an impact player coming on later in the game when the other team is tiring.
He is without doubt skilled but is no grafter which is often needed earlier in the game

Re: Gillingham
Apparently it was a close game and Gillingham could well have had a penalty. Funny old game football. Last week we had one of the most ridiculous penalties awarded against us yet in the two following games we could have conceded a bona-fide spot kick claim in each game. That shows the fine lines of football when good fortune, confidence and genuine skill comes together and gets results.
Still it is good to get another win and our run goes on.

Re: Gillingham
According to the stats (FACTS) we edged it and probably deserved the 3 pts.
Possession: Home39% Away61%
Shots: Home8 Away10
Shots on Target: Home2 Away4
Corners: Home5 Away4
Although it could also be said Gillingham are a poor side on the slide and we might have done better than 4 shots on target with 61% of the possession.
Still, I'll take the 3 pts thank you very much.

Re: Gillingham
I feared we would get nothing from this match as a team with no recognised centre backs on the pitch has no right to walk away with anything from a football league game. But we found a way. Plus it's two Saturdays in a row where we've pushed and pressurised right up to the final whistle, nicking wins. Cowley and co are proving resourceful, adaptable, and resilient.

Re: Gillingham
We seem to have scored a few late goals that have seen victories recently...are we the new 93 minute team?

Re: Gillingham
Another impressive result. Clean sheet with our CH deficiencies is excellent. To get the win even better. What a turnaround!!
Excellent.
