Late Nite Xmas Special with The Cincinnati Kid
Merry Christmas Kid fans! And a hearty ho ho ho to our stripy chums down the road. May Santa’s reindeer poo down your chimney and may your wimin get beards for Xmas.
Welcome to yet another Xmas edition. The usual stuff because let’s face it, the best Xmas toons don’t change much over the years and really, as the great Chuck Berry said: “All I want for Christmas is a rock n roll electric guitar”
Now, for all you folks arguing about covid, the Cowleys or Bass v Baz, lets kick off with some Fascinating Aida.
Rude word alert.

I can’t quite figure this out. Every year I roll Elvis racking Blue Christmas. Same leather togs, same musicians, same stage set up yet somehow, Martina McBride has been beamed in to sing along.
Maybe the King did this show multiple times?
Note the adoring ladies in the crowd. I have this same problem when I pick up my axe.

I’ve seen this show live twice now. Both times at the Ryman theatre in Nashville, which is an old school venue and used to be the home of the Grand Olde Oprey. The ghosts of all the old Nashville country music stars roam its hallways. Dunno if this show ever gets overseas but it’s highly recommended if you ever get the chance. Best Xmas show ever.

I’m not much of a fan of Rap music but occasionally something catches the ear. I think it’s usually when there’s a musical instrument or two in the toon instead of a rehashed recorded beat with some samples….anyhoo…Yo…Its Christmas time in Hollis, Queens.

If I travel North in Ohio, I can run into a few famous people cities. The Wright Bros, followed by Neil Armstrong, followed by Chrissie Hynde en route to sunny Cleveland for starters.

Yeah, I wish they would come here but I'm not sure the humor travels well enough.
When you saw them, did they play that tune?
