Alex Neil

Post by jam tomorrow »

After taking Sunderland up to the Championship and doing well in that league he’s in talks with Stoke City with a strong possibility he’s joining them. Obviously Sunderland fans are incensed just when they get a manager that has them doing well they get kicked in the teeth just shows even when you think you are doing well it soon can come to an end.

Their fans must be fuming - he is a very good manager. Dan Windle tweeted earlier that it is a done deal. Interesting, and slightly surprising, that he sees Stoke as a better proposition.
I wonder if Sunderland will come in for Danny Cowley?

Could be a possibility but think Ipswich might be more worried

He was only on a rolling 12 month contract there and sounds like his family is still based in Preston, so understandable from a personal point of view that he might go to Stoke which is a lot closer. And it also seems that they've offered him a substantial pay rise.

Some on this board would be delighted if Sunderland came in for Cowley

Agree, but they should be careful what they wish for!

I think loyalty was lost in football in the 80s. Fans are the ones who suffer in every scene.....money is the root of all evil
