Nothing imminent, or at least that they are prepared to disclose at the moment but there is obviously aspirations - a plan if you will.

Re: Training Ground & Academy: Expansion Plans
Thanks for posting - clearly much happening behind the scenes.
Looking at the new pics for the nerly-completed Milton End, we have really benefited from having the Eisners as owners.
Judging by the recent results, it looks as if their second attempt at recuiting the right management team is coming good.

Your namesake looks like it is going to be much improved with the increased concourse alone being much needed!

A development and better use of the Roko footprint might be enough to bring the Academy under one roof and allow for the younger age groups to train evenings -without having to purchase additional land.Pompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 3:43 pm https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/foot ... ns-4075189

Get rid of the players parking area and relocate to the main Roko car park (fence / section off a secure parking area if required).
Get rid of the present dilapidated astro areas and tennis courts.
Rotate the U18 pitch 90degrees
Use the additional space to add in one or two further pitches side by side, same direction as the U18 rotated pitch (Or one all weather 4g with floodlights or dome) - shouldn't be any restriction to floodlights as they already exist).
That would show proper statement of intent.

Some excellent suggestions: what makes you think that the club are not considering these?Isley46 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 12:35 pmA development and better use of the Roko footprint might be enough to bring the Academy under one roof and allow for the younger age groups to train evenings -without having to purchase additional land.Pompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 3:43 pm https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/foot ... ns-4075189

The owners have just invested another £9 million in the club - audited FACT.
Why does the club need to publish its investigation of training ground options in order to show "proper" intent?

Re: Training Ground & Academy: Expansion Plans
Something somewhere said there was more work planned for Roko this summer. I can't remember where - might have been a CEO interview.
Re: Training Ground & Academy: Expansion Plans
Since mayfield school has been redeveloped that leaves a big amount space next to it. Enough space to build decent academy facilities I wonder if the club could collaborate with the school and build great facilities that the school could also benefit from I’d imagine the council would agree as well as being walking distance to roko.
Will probably just be turned in to houses though!

Re: Training Ground & Academy: Expansion Plans
WTF do they want the St Johns situation was well explained concerning the massive environmental issues do they not recall the goose habitat issues which blocked the stadium years ago
Do they not look at the account information showing the additional investment etc
Bunch of merchant bankers
Do they not understand the cost of rotating the pitch even extending the North Stand is 34 million
The Milton is limited by houses behind guess they really know the club

Re: Training Ground & Academy: Expansion Plans
The Trust undertook a detailed analysis of the stadium expansion, which resulted in a 30 page report. The cost of rotation compared to extending as is was about £4m difference if I recall correctly. Something like £44m vs £48m. Here is the link to said report...Pompey55 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 3:48 pmWTF do they want the St Johns situation was well explained concerning the massive environmental issues do they not recall the goose habitat issues which blocked the stadium years ago

Re: Training Ground & Academy: Expansion Plans
The club has plans than just building a football stadium - the accounts showed a jump, due to the health club at Roko a hotel and other stuff brings in more money again - plus the costs in that document were indicative and talk about the need for land etc.. etc.. etc..Claygate wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 4:51 pmThe Trust undertook a detailed analysis of the stadium expansion, which resulted in a 30 page report. Many thanks for this link to the detailed plans and background thinking undertaken by the Trust in 2016/7.Claygate wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 4:51 pmThe Trust undertook a detailed analysis of the stadium expansion, which resulted in a 30 page report. They are well developed and thoughtful. But if I have read them correctly, they are based on an asumption that has turned out to be completely false.
Namely, the Trust's plans assume that the old south and north stands did not need significant upgrading to meet modern health and safety legislation. This has turned out to be wrong. Thus, the financial estimates contained in the plans failed to address the problems that have now been identified and rectified by the new owners. It's a different ball game in the 2020s.
But perhaps I have misunderstood this? If so, please accept my apologies
