New Milton End
great video of the new ME but I'd like to ask Mr Eisner ;why these world class architects who designed the ME havent renewed the roof. Surely these world class architects would have planned it in. Also those posts in the NS and ME do get in the way. Just wondered loike

The north stand ones will go when the next phase in it happens I would assume.blueocean wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 11:14 pm great video of the new ME but I'd like to ask Mr Eisner ;why these world class architects who designed the ME havent renewed the roof. Milton end can't go higher, I still think it will be rebuilt at somepoint way down the line once the north stand is proper.

Re: New Milton End
We really need the new bridge/bridges. Goldsmith Ave is ridiculous after full time. I wonder what the situation is with persuading parties it's viable. Seems like it's standing still at the moment.

Cullen said a while back that a couple of options were going through some viability studies.

Completely agree but it's actually quite a complex planning and funding problem.NSRailings wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 8:52 am We really need the new bridge/bridges. Permissions are needed from the City Council (who have been supportive) and also Network Rail, who own Fratton station. My recollection is that the club have also been seeking some funding from Network Rail to pay for the bridge - never an easy task! - because it will benefit the rail network as well as the club.
Personally, I think that a new bridge is unlikely to be built until the club reaches the Championship and also decides to remodel the North Stand completely - executive boxes, new layer, etc. A new ground capacity of 28-30,000 would then justify a bridge more easily.
Milton End is entering a new era with Tornante

The bridge needs to come first - no bridge no permission for new north stand.Milton End wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 11:20 amCompletely agree but it's actually quite a complex planning and funding problem.NSRailings wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 8:52 am We really need the new bridge/bridges. That's good - they seemed confident the other day they would be able to for this match but you never know.

Re: New Milton End
That's right. And ME said that demand for the North Stand needs to be high for the extension to go ahead. That'll only come if we get promoted I expect. So it's all on tenderhooks. Network Rail will be waiting for assurances that the bridge is worth committing to. So we're at a stand-off. I don't think it's quite like that. The club are trying to demonstrate that all the associated development around FP justifies the bridge, not just the stadium.NSRailings wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 7:09 pmThat's right. Yes that's true. But it looks like we need to be an established championship club first.Pompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 7:15 pmI don't think it's quite like that. Although as he says, it's not a definite.

Re: New Milton End
It was sold out - it was a test event. It was discussed in the recent updates by the club.
