Portsmouth Halt Interest In Summer Target
Apparently we are not pursuing the signing of Sam Smith as we can’t promise him a first team place. As we only play one up front and the Bish has that spot. My point is if he got injured or tired we won’t have a good replacement I think Ipswich had at least two or three strikers last season. If this pattern goes on we will never find a good quality striker as a substitute or replacement.

The question is where does this information come from?
You can take the man out of Pompey
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man

I seem to recall that at one time Ipswich had 5/6 strikers available I doubt if our budget will stretch to thatjam tomorrow wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 6:49 pm Apparently we are not pursuing the signing of Sam Smith as we can’t promise him a first team place. I would imagine that Sam Smith was never a realistic option at present best we wait until 10 June when we can actually sign someone on a contract before we believe paper talk especially the snooze
I don’t see Bishop as an obstacle to signing strikers as surely a good manager will adapt his playing style to suit what players he has availabile rather than getting players to play a strict unchangable system
That’s what we got with the PE teachers

What’s up with telling them we may play two upfront on some occasions? As has been said it may be just paper talk?

My exact sentiments
You can take the man out of Pompey
