Sheffield United
I wonder with us not expected to get much from this game and Cardiff coming up on the Tuesday followed by a trip to Oxford if we might get again see some "rotation" (resting) of the players
I fully expect Ogilvie Lang Shaugnessy and either Murphy /Ritchie not to start and possibly even maybe Bishop and they be replaced by Bramall Aouchiche Matthews and Gordon and maybe Waddingham
Plus Atkinson and Potts I expect to be taken off come what may after 60 minutes if they start
I do feel this is very much a case of as Moushino has done in the past playing newer signings very much as if to prove a point with our signing them and to get an idea on how they may cope at this level when it's a no lose situation regarding the result
For me if this happens I am somewhat conflicted between being a travelling supporter and for us to be competitive and being realistic as to our priorities

Re: Sheffield United
Agreed - it's the back to back midweeks that we don't seem able to cope with.
I also fancy a point.

It's a shame Lane's out. Would've liked to have seen Bramall and Lane on the team sheet.

Re: Sheffield United
Esp if they both scored
We have a home game on Tuesday vs Cardiff and we simply have to win that…much more so than Sheff U.
I’d anticipate one or 2 changes for the Sheff match.
Adil for Lang, Gordon for Ritchie, dare I say this Pack for Potts…(tin hat on)

Re: Sheffield United
I think Potts has been a bit sloppy in the last couple of games compared to what he can be.

Re: Sheffield United
I went to the Chelsea v West Ham game last night and having watched the game live can safely say that Potts is nowhere near ready to start for the HammersPompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:18 pmI think Potts has been a bit sloppy in the last couple of games compared to what he can be.

Re: Sheffield United
I would have thought we will go strong on Saturday and try and nick a point? Something like this:
Schmid
Swanson Shaughnessy Atkinson Ogilvie
Potts Dozzell
Lang Aouchiche Murphy
Bishop
Bench: Archer, Devlin, Matthews, Bramall, Pack, Hayden, Gordon, Ritchie, Waddingham

Re: Sheffield United
I'd want to see a full strength side start the game. Depending on the state of play after 60/70 minutes we can maybe take some off with an eye on midweek.

Re: Sheffield United
Just been reading about the 15yo boy stabbed to death in Sheffield school!
Tragic, how can something like that happen?...the mentality of the kids that are doing these things, incomprehensible. Apparently this lad was a very keen United supporter and there is likely to be some memorial activity at the game Saturday.

Applause on the 15th minute at our game, and Wednesday fans are trying to arrange the same for their away game I believe.eltorrro wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 4:54 pm Just been reading about the 15yo boy stabbed to death in Sheffield school!

I think it goes without saying our away supporters will respect whatever happensPompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:06 pmApplause on the 15th minute at our game, and Wednesday fans are trying to arrange the same for their away game I believe.eltorrro wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 4:54 pm Just been reading about the 15yo boy stabbed to death in Sheffield school!

Or any fans to be honest....Would vote for a minute's silence pre-game tbh....and applause on 15 minutes.

Re: Sheffield United
Not according to the snooze following the press conference where Moushino clearly indicated that there will be rotation
Just hope any of the new signing’s Atkinson and Hayden excepted who start live up to his expectations
