O/T car trouble help please BMW 520D 08 Dipped Beam Failure!

Hi peeps, I dont pretend to know anything about cars, as I dont know anything. I have a problem with my "dipped beam"

Basically both lights are gone on the front & I get "dipped beam failure" warning on dash for both L & R lights

Could this be a lamp or fuse issue or something more sinister

An educated opinion would tell me not lamps as they both went at same time, too much of a coincidence ?

The outer ring of the headlamps still come on when I unlock the car & the high beam also works fine - so I'm guessing not fuse ?

Seems like I am answering my own questions but I am only guessing

Any advice would be great
