Pompey vs Sunderland (decider ?)

Well today is the day, can we go up to Sunderland and get the result we need (a win) ?

Is this going to be the decider ?

I do hope we beat them not only for this campaign but also to get revenge for the Roker park 4-1 defeat that cost us promotion nearly 20 years ago (not that I carry a grudge or anything

)

The Checkatrade trophy game could be used as just a warm up for this game as the noise and pressure will have a similarity to Roker Park. We are the form team and if we can get to them early, maybe nobbling McCready at the same time, we could steal an advantage.

A draw at the very least the way, please. Hopefully our last two stutters of winning while playing badly, will give us the impetus to play the best game of the season today.

Vaughan starts in place of Ollie. Doubtless they will try to wind Vaughan up so he does something stupid - I hope that they don't succeed.

I would rather have had Vaughan coming on as a sub for the last 20 if needed.... Ollie has the ariel threat we might need, while Vaughan's temperament may get to him.

Draw….. probably lost the chance for automatic promotion now, but secure in third place and an easier play-off game.
