Next seasons squad
Who starts next season with who’s in contact and who can we ship out this is all o can come up with if we stay with 3 at the back
————————bass———————
——?????——roberston—— Ogilvie
Johnson——morrel——?????——hume
———?????——?????——?????——
That’s all I see worthy of being close to the starting line up
I included Johnson as we have an option on his contract
I would like to keep thompson and Jacobs but they just don’t stay fit.
O’Brien and raggett we need to try and tie down the rest of the out of contract need to go
Harness can stay if he gets his head in it again
We won’t be keeping any of our loan players
Baz, Carter, Romeo, are too good
Hirst and walker aren’t good enough
So a complete front three needed
A combative midfielder enforcer to break up play
Right sided centre back
Plus anyone please take Curtis off of us!!

Re: Next seasons squad
How will he be able to prove anything if Cowley does not want his contract option to be taken up, if Cowley rated him he would not be out on loan now surely as it’s hardly to gain experience at his age
Re: Next seasons squad
I mean if he was here next season and contract option was taken up obviously hypothetically.

Re: Next seasons squad
They've also conceded 30 more goals than us. . .which is probably the primary thing to judge defenders on?
To be fair I quite liked Johnson when he played for us and he did a decent enough job but he wasn't outstanding.
Re: Next seasons squad
Agree we need a forward line, Would like to sign O'Brein as he reads the game well, has good positional sense and at this level could play the role Teddy Sherringham did in happier times. However, to get decent forwards and forward thinking midfield additions costs money and currently see little evidence that the Eisner family want to invest in players. Don't get me wrong, they got us through the pandemic, have invested in the training facilities and are improving Fratton Park, but what brings the fans through the door...........the players on the pitch!
With the cost of living rocketing, unless we bring in some promising players, season ticket sales could plummet and if they still want to balance the books each season, we could be set for a long stay in this division.

Re: Next seasons squad
The problem for many is that generally season tickets go on sale to existing people in June offering early bird savings and by then there is little indication on which players will start the season so it’s somewhat of a leap of faith renewing.
In previous years coming of the back of all be it a failed playoff position there was some optimism but this not year to generate the sales, this year all I can see and hear is pessimistic opinion.

It will be interesting to see the ST sales next year. What were they for this year?Pompey55 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 7:23 pm The problem for many is that generally season tickets go on sale to existing people in June offering early bird savings and by then there is little indication on which players will start the season so it’s somewhat of a leap of faith renewing.

Re: Next seasons squad
No idea on numbers but remember there were a mixture of full season tickets and flexi tickets I suspect if the choice is offered again that maybe more people will opt for flexi tickets
