Rotherham
Getting ready to go tonight I’m hoping that as realistically there is nothing at stake that maybe Cowley might look to entertain us for the remaining games. Surely we just need to play to win not just avoid defeat in a manner to give us something to look forward to next season.
I’m not going to suggest a team as it’s bl**dy impossible at the moment.
Despite this my gut feeling is the team will be defensive set up not to lose which seems to be the default position when we play a decent team

Playing pretty well so far, nit impressed with Rotherham, you can't tell which is the higher side.

It's a lottery as to which Pompey will turn up to reach game isn't it - such a team of extreme performances.

Re: Rotherham
George Hirst was magnificent tonight and well deserved MOM. We have got to sign him as he's getting better with each game..imagine if he had some real service!! Defence was excellent as was midfield although I thought Curtis had yet another poor game. All in all really well played by Pompey...if only we could play that way every game??

Good win but too little too late. 10 points off the play offs with only 15 left to play for.
Really cannot fathom Danny's team selections. He keeps resting players because we have games coming thick and fast but by keep leaving people out , we never have our best eleven on the pitch. There's only five games left , just pick your best team man. What are you saving people for ?

Everyone says David Beckham is not very intelligent. No-one says that Professor Stephen Hawking is a rubbish footballer!

Re: Rotherham
Just got home after a somewhat surprising performance from a surprisingly attacking team selection. Does make you wonder what we could have achieved with a similar attitude earlier
Rotherham were distinctly average and I would guess if they go up then without investment will be straight back down again

Tonight I actually think he got his team selection right but it’s taken him 40 games to do sorumourmonger wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 10:40 pm Good win but too little too late. 10 points off the play offs with only 15 left to play for.

I will be very interested to see if he finally sticks with this team on Friday or messes around again it’s simple don’t change a winning team

Re: Rotherham
Exactly. I wonder whether he wraps them in cotton wool. I'm also sceptical about the 'games coming thick and fast' thing. We've just had 2.5 weeks without any games and am sure we've had similar occasions a few times this season.rumourmonger wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 10:40 pm Really cannot fathom Danny's team selections. Re: Rotherham
Missed the 2nd half as had to go out. Sounds like a great win...trouble is we're so inconsistent. Not helped by the manager changing the team selection all the time.
