Best ever football film?

Post by StMonkton »

Have just finished watching The Three Kings on Prime.

Sensational film about three giants of the game: Stein, Shankly and Busby.

Very well produced and a reminder of the days when football was shaped by great individuals, not just great amounts of money.

Am I looking at the past with rose tinted glasses? Or are these 3 the giants I take them to be?

Any better films out there ?

And ex-Pompey winger Kevin O'Callaghan! Who plays in goal for some reason, before Stallone gets in.

I watched the Sunderland thing on Netflix - specifically the one where we beat them in the Paint Pot Trophy, that was a pretty good watch.

What jumped out was how commercially driven the Chairman was - a lot of air time was put into how they should manipulate comms and ticketing in order to extract every inch of revenue possible. I'm sure this happens everywhere, but I wonder how well that went down with the Mackam fans.

Three Kings sounds good, I will have to look that one up.

bck to original question though, I think the most enjoyable football film I have watched to date is I.D....
