Re: League One's Top Earners
Granted we might not be picking up all the wages but if these numbers are true sort of squashes the 'penny pinching loans'

George Hirst is on £18,000 a week with Blackburn. That is basically why we didnt get him on loan this time round though he wanted to come back, and Cowley wanted him. We were not prepared the proportion of his wage it would have taken to get him here.

If it's silly money for Hirst..we are being absolutely robbed for Pigott!! Ipswich must be laughing their socks off at us.Pompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 3:58 pmHe's at Ipswich now but either way that's just silly money for himSelsey Bill wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 3:50 pm George Hirst is on £18,000 a week with Blackburn. It would explain why be went to the knackers yard when he arrived at Ipswich though, and why we couldn't sign him when he went there.eltorrro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 4:01 pmIf it's silly money for Hirst..we are being absolutely robbed for Pigott!! Re: League One's Top Earners
Weekly wages. But how much a year? Say, £18,000 x 52? £936,000. Really?

Re: League One's Top Earners
I can see why the club want to cut down on loans now. Cullen's comment about too much of the transfer budget going on them seems spot on.
Super Matt Macey in goal...

We won't be paying all of Piggott's wages, just a proportion. The question is: "What proportion?"eltorrro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 4:01 pmIf it's silly money for Hirst..we are being absolutely robbed for Pigott!! Guess 60% SB even that would be way too highSelsey Bill wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 8:52 amWe won't be paying all of Piggott's wages, just a proportion.
