A few more forum changes
A few more changes - hopefully for the better and hopefully not too intrusive!
Style
I've changed the default style of the board, as I think prosilver (the default style) is a bit dull and a bit dated in appearance. I've added some more colour and an image in the footer background. Not huge changes overall, just put a bit of lippy on it.
For now, I've forced it as the new style, so I can get some feedback from you all. I'll put the old one back as the default at some point and you can then choose which you want from your User Control Panel.
Donations
I've added a "buy me a drink" button at the top (just under the navigation bar). Feel free to use it - but there is honestly no pressure to do so. I won't keep tabs and I do realise that in these current times, every penny counts for all of us! So please do not feel obliged.
Click the button under the navigation bar and a PayPal window will popup.
Google Ads
Again, to raise a bit of dosh, I've added a google ads extension, which will display an ad under the header and one at the foot of the page. If people feel this is getting a bit much, do say. I certainly don't want to ****** people off, as we are a rather small band of merry folk as it is!
To that end, you'll also get another one of those GDPR popups regarding the Google Ads (just the once I think).
Refresh Your Cache
You may need to refresh your cache for the site, to bring down any changes. This is quite simple, although can v=be slightly different, depending on the browser and operating system. Generally, it is...
Windows: ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
Linux: F5
Feedback appreciated.

Copy+Paste image from Clipboard
Now you can simply copy+paste an image directly into a post from your clipboard. No need to click attachments -> Add Files. Just paste it directly into the textbox. The image is automatically attached and the appropriate code added to the textbox.
Example: Search for an image in Google. Right click the image and "Copy". Then simply Crtl+V / Cmd+V into the textbox.

Re: A few more forum changes
It would be nice if the toolbar was collapsed on screens of a certain size - as it's a bit of a beast on a mobile. No worries if it's not that easy to make it responsive just throwing it out there.

Re: A few more forum changes
Which part of the screen do you mean by toolbar? Do you mean all the stuff above the textbox when you are posting? This bit....

I'll see what I can do - and try not to break anything whilst I'm at it

Also the moderators only section of the forum appears to all, or I've had a promotion.

Re: A few more forum changes
Hi, many thanks for your hard work.
However, is there a way of turning the ads off. I am sure Natalie (?) is a lovely young lady, but my wife is not so pleased. She can tolerate the football content with a roll of the eyes, but she is not so internet savvy, and believes i must have accessed something dodgy to get such exposure !
Cheers,
FF

Re: A few more forum changes
Don’t speak about my future wife like that! The wedding is in April and I just need to send her the air care when I get paid next week. You are all invited to the wedding x.Fratton Fortress wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 11:40 am Hi, many thanks for your hard work.
