Michael Eisner interview on OS

Post by Claygate »

For those that have not seen it yet, I recommend watching it. I was certainly encouraged by what he had to say. Very open and honest with his answers.

Was interesting but I don’t think it told us anything much we did not already know.

It was all very cushty until the very last bit when he said we can move forward.........IN THE NEXT 125 YEARS!!!
I was thinking more of a time-frame in the range of about 10 months.
Was that joke 'cos he wasn't smiling?!!

A reassuring watch for me. He comes across as competent, sincere, committed and enthusiastic.

A very realistic appraisal of where we are and what is needed.

To put it in context, there wasn’t a lot of hot air promises of instant gratification. It would have been very easy to palm us off with some outrageous promises that might have pleased us in the short term until reality dawned.

No passing the buck or blaming the pandemic for slower progress than he or we want.

One note of caution; he is clearly very media savvy and I expect had seen the questions beforehand. I think that’s just another demonstration of competence.

Two things.

1) Was this recorded in his bathroom? I swear I see a toilet and two sinks in the mirror reflection.

2) My wife asked me why I was listening to Donal Trump. I have to admit closing my eyes he does sound like Trump lol.

More seriously though. It did seem a relatively frank interview although as always the proof will be in the pudding.
