Pre-season matches don't mean a thing and never have, other than cohesion and fitness. I can't remember a single season where we've beaten everyone with massive performances, and immediately started the season looking like title contenders. I do remember one year (early 90s?) where we thumped about five teams pre-season, and then immediately hit a brick wall as soon as the season began. Maybe the Terry Fenwick era? I seem to remember the strange excuse 'we are too fit'...

I don't mind losing friendlies, just as long as we learn why we lost them. Thats how we improve, not trusting in a formula that worked because we had players from a step or two higher up the pyramid.

Thanks Selsey good feedback for those of us that couldn’t be there although a loss sounds as if we could come good maybe the missing link is the attacking midfielder we need ? If it’s Tino or an equivalent will give us more threat up front something we’ve needed for a long time now.

Poole - really liked the look of him. Very commanding in defence, and keen to play out with the ball. Surprised he wasn't made captain in Pack's absence. Definitely an upgrade on Raggett.

Oh come on now Selsey, you are talking about a player who is squad at best, no one wanted him so he ended up here :thumb
