Highlights and Positivity from Forest Green Game

Post by Jack_Tinn »

The highlights of the game can be watched here:

https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/s ... highlights

Positives I am taking from the game:

~ It was a win, away from home and the Team scored 3 goals and could have scored more;
~ Yengi (24) was making his first start in English football;
~ Devlin (19) was making his first start in English football;
~ Kamara (19) was making his first start in English football;
~ Robertson (20) was making his first pro appearance in English football as a sub;
~ Mottoh (16) was making his first pro appearance as a sub;
~ The team was young, had not played together and were away on a wet misty night and controlled the game.
~ Pompey's corner taking looked dangerous - nice deep in-swinging corners to the back post created one goal and Bishop almost scored another.
~ The footwork and drive from Kamara to create the pen was impressive.
~ Robertson's play and pass to slide in Bishop was impressive.
~ Good penalty from Yengi - Chloe Kelly-esq.
~ Saydee looks so physically strong. Reminds me of Yukubu when I see defenders bounce off him in challenges.
~ Sparkes attacking forward play looks like a useful addition - adds versatility - could play left side of midfield in some away games with Oglivie at left
back or as a wing back in a 5-3-2. Swanson looks ideal as a right sided wing back too.
~ Pompey are into the next round of the cup and now have eight games in August alone to help gell the squad.
~ Chance of a decent home tie to generate
£ in the second round.
~ always good for the team to get that first win under their belt - particularly helpful to get it as an away win when your next league game is against similar opposition in Leyton Orient away.

Lots to look forward to hope this is our time
