Will be interesting as to what we do if Ogilvie is injured do take a significant risk with Sparkes who whilst fine going forward is a defensive nightmare
Personally I would like at home for us to go with a back 3 with Lane and Sparkes as wingbacks
And if fit Saydee up front with Bishop
And Morrell Pack and Robertson in midfield

The feeling is that Lincoln will "Park the Bus", will we therefore need the defensive abilities of Sparkes (assuming Ogilvie is not fit). Sparkes ` crossing will be invaluable against the `Bus,` he shouldn`t need to defend too much. If Saydee is fit he too will be a vital ingredient of battering the "Bus". I am confident that this group of Players will be schooled to beat massed defences!

I'd play Sparkes at left back, it is after all his position.

Might be his position on paper but like Hume before him he has a weakness playing that position he can’t defend, but he is very effective going forward in particular his crossing ability

You speak like Sparkes and Hume are clueless at defending they aren't - they have made careers playing at left back.

Granted, the defensive side of their game isn't quite as strong as when we are in the front foot, but they are certainly component at defending. More competent than a player played out of position.

Trent's not the best defender in the world, but Klopp's still happy to play him at full back.

Norris, Rafferty, Poole, Shaughnessy, Sparkes, Morrell, Pack (c), Lane, Robertson, Kamara, Bishop

Subs: Schofield, Towler, Raggett, Devlin, Stevenson, Anjorin, Whyte

No Saydee - sounds like he's only 70% there. Whyte on the bench.

Also, very nice statue of Dickinson.

If Lincoln have any knowledge of Pompey`s Players, then they need to have their fastest breaking forward on their right touchline. Sparkes yes, but not combined with Kamara. I hope I am wrong

Think JM is taking a risk with a more attacking team hoping The Imps will just park the bus and try and hit us on the break

Robertson gets booked for kicking the ball away.Heneeds to be hooked immediately, fined and dropped for 2/3 games. The kid has to learn and Mousinho needs to teach him. Get Devlin on; he deserves more minutes.
