The Data Behind Portsmouth's Successful Start to 2023-24

Post by OptaAnalystMatt »

Morning Pompey fans.

I hope you don't mind a bit of self-promotion on this forum, but I wanted to flag an in-depth analysis of Portsmouth's excellent form under John Mousinho and the data behind your rise to the top of League One.

Any feedback would be most welcome!

Fantastic stuff Matty. So much better than the relentless contentless drivel served up by The Snooze.
Key message of your analysis: absolutely no room for complacency. Others have been in this position and allowed promotion to slip away.

Cheers Matt. I love these kinds of stats, especially when they are tipping what we all hope for. I thought Mous was an inspired appointment as manager and from the start I was excited to see how he would fair with us. You analysis clearly points out that he has not done too badly to date. In fact, I believe he is approaching an average of 2 points a game. If he keeps that up it will be an enjoyable summer.

Yes, but Matty doesn't have to come up with content about the same club 6 days a week does he.
Super Matt Macey in goal...

Mike Neasom had the same brief back in the day and delivered relevant, meaningful stories day after day.
Now, most of the engaging content is on websites like this.
The only time The News steps up is when Neil Allen reports breaking news or delivers a quality match report.
