Just found out Mason Mount is a Pompey boy! Allegedly refused to go on loan to Southampton while at Chelsea.

Made me think about what the best Pompey XI would be from people born from our great city.

I don’t have the experience of watching some of our older players so curious who you’d put down.

Guy Whittingham was born in Evesham, Worcestershire, sorry to burst that bubble. Pompey bought him out of the army for £450.00. Money well spent for him and the club. Alan Knight was born in Balham, South London.

That would make a great team but, if I may be pedantic. Froggatt was born on my birthday in Sheffield (a bit earlier I might add), Dickenson was born in Winchester. Dougie Reid was born in Scotland, Alan Knight in London and Guy Whittingham was born in Evesham. Reg Flewin was born in Portsmouth but Jack Whatmough was born in Gosport, which is near enough I suppose. Ray Crawford was born in Portsmouth though.
