This be popped up on the local news. Thought it was interesting due to the ongoing frustrations over delays on new infrastructure at Fratton Station.

“Work on the footbridge at Theale, part of renovations to make the station wheelchair accessible, began in 2013, after it was given the green light by the Department for Transport, with a budget of £1.25m. In 2021, the budget for the bridge was increased to £9.5m. “

No wonder no one wants to touch it with a 10 ft bargepole!

I think that was initially a 10ft bargepole, however....

As a matter of immense and fascinating interest I have traced my ancestry back to Theale in the 1700's. I had never heard of the place before and now I hear and see it mentioned quite often.
