Definitely a contributing factor. Wherever he ends up next is going to benefit at the expense of Redbull. Factor in the internal squabbling / civil war at RB and you have a recipe for a team on the decline. Especially if key people start to leave. I wouldn’t bet against Max leaving at some point if he continues his current attitude and the internal stuff doesn’t get sorted out sharpish. Toto is already laying the ground work it seems for trying to get Max to come over. As above it seems the most interesting stuff seems to be happening off the track in recent years!

Whilst I acknowledge Max is a very good driver I think he is an arrogant brat who needs to learn respect and humility, and I forgot he needs to be taught how to race fairly!

Definitely. It’s easy to be gracious when you’re winning the championship by 100 points season on season. Now the pressure is on we’re seeing him revert back to the Max from a few years back. I think it’s going to be his downfall. He’s not pragmatic enough and I don’t think his ego can take anything other than winning. We saw that with his crash with Lewis last weekend. Lost his temper and ending up dropping a few places because of it. A few more cases of that I can see an exciting end to the season if McLaren keep up their good form.Portchesterblue2 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:01 pmmmm I agree but arent they all, mr hamilton is a spoilt arrogant little brat.

While I think RB are still good enough to win the drivers championship with Max this season as long as he keeps his head I think his attitude going to be his downfall before long. I can see RB not winning the constructors title this season as Perez seems to be racing poorly at the moment. While the drivers championship has more prestige I think the constructors one is that one that generally generates more money for the winning teams.
I know Lewis had a bad attitude back in the day but it’s funny how chilled he seems this season in comparison to Max. I’m hoping for some more “elbows out” from max this weekend and it costing him the race.

He is more chilled, because he is getting out performed and is leaving so doesn't care any more lol
he was the worst of bad losers, and his dad didn't help either, always banging on about all the sacrifices he had to make, despite having everything paid for him since the age of 8. Hamilton's "under privileged" upbringing included a paid for private school which he got kicked out ironically for bullying.
I must admit I enjoyed the maclaren exchanges on the radio, it was clear land was always going to pull over, if he wasn't going to he would have just said no, not sure his team quite understood that, and didn't cover themselves in glory trying to persuade him

The papaya cars were allowed to race so I was surprised Lando didn't give the place back 10 laps earlier and then fight Oscar to the end.Portchesterblue2 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:38 pm

Re: F1 Topic
There is another aspect to this it’s worth raising. At the time Lando was asked to let Piastri pass the gap between Lando and Piastri was about 8 seconds and about 5 seconds between Piastri and Hamilton in third. So 13 seconds in total between first and third. For Lando to allow Piastri to pass he would have had to give up 8 of those 13 seconds. It wasn’t until Max tried to run Hamilton off the road and screwed him self over and that gap increased Lando dropped back. Lando even said on the radio of Piastri wanted to pass he’d have to catch him up. I can completely understand not wanting to give up a lead of 8 seconds when Mclearen have been so near but so far in recent race weekends. Especially with the chance of Max being on the war path and potentially closing the gap on the front two had he been able to overtake Hamilton. Had Max gotten past Hamilton and not screwed himself over then Nando letting Piastri pass earlier could have led to a completely different end to the race.

Re: F1 Topic
Sainz to Williams is big news. I honestly thought he'd end up at Mercedes in what would have been a straight swap with Lewis. Really hope that Williams can develop a good car as Albon and Sainz are both decent drivers more than capable of competing for points, possibly more
