In the second half he went on the outside on three occasions and showed he has got a left footBlueinPLtwenty wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 1:31 pm For a left winger Silvera is all right foot too predictable
You can take the man out of Pompey
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man

Re: Pompey vs Luton
Very frustrating watching injury time. The pass back to the keeper with two minutes left on the clock exemplified the lack of urgency on display. I hope pack coming off was just a precaution and we won’t be without him. Either way another midfielder and forward wouldn’t go amiss.
On paper it looked like our opening fixtures would be tough for us. I know some forums were predicting us getting 0 points from our opening eight games and here we are with 2 draws from the first two games. Should be happy with that all things considered but I can’t help but feel like we’ve left points on the table from both games.

Happy with the result, we grind on. It’s a marathon this season, so lets get some experienced players in, and aim for staying up.

I don't understand why Moxon hasn't started so far this season. And Ritchie still needs to get fitness up I believe. Definitely need a few new signings to add some quality and depth and get the injured players ready. Too many current players aren't capable of performing the way Mous wants.
But I'm enjoying the higher profile and quality (so far) of the Championship.

I thought Ritchie was a bit of a liability today.NSRailings wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 3:52 pmI don't understand why Moxon hasn't started so far this season. Re: Pompey vs Luton
Bit surprised by today's game to be honest. I thought before the season started any points we get from these opening games would be a bonus. The reality is that we could be accused of letting 4 points slip away but, at the same time, a tad lucky to have two. Leeds could have been 3-4 nil up in the first 10 minutes and here today Luton could have been a couple up before we mustered a shot in anger. I think Luton shaded it 11 v 11 but due to our lack of quality we couldn't get over the line when they went down to 10. The game showed that we need quality and pace but I thought it was an entertaining game which we should, perhaps, have won.
The surprises were that Luton were not as good as I thought they would be and the performances of a couple of Pompey players. I thought Saydee showed up well but really needs a strike partner and I thought Lang's intelligent running off the ball was wasted because of our lack of players able to spot his runs. I thought Towler had a good shout as Pompey man ot the match and that Shaughnessy had a good game. I do agree though that Norris was given MoM because he kept us in the game before the sending off with some great saves. Their keeper made some great saves before he got sent off too.
So, all in all, pleased but a bit disappointed.

Exactly what I expected that is what Middlesbrough fans said when he came to us some good ability but predictable and no final ballBlueinPLtwenty wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 1:31 pm For a left winger Silvera is all right foot too predictable

Re: Pompey vs Luton
Except that he did start to use his left foot as BluePL wrote later. Some of his crossing was bad, but he was one of the few who actually wanted to have a go and there was some final ball on occasion. So he's worth sticking with for now as hopefully the coaching team will work to improve his play.Pompey55 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 6:32 pmExactly what I expected that is what Middlesbrough fans said when he came to us some good ability but predictable and no final ballBlueinPLtwenty wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 1:31 pm For a left winger Silvera is all right foot too predictable

I did not say he had a bad game just that he had no final ball and that needs addressingNSRailings wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 6:44 pmExcept that he did start to use his left foot as BluePL wrote later.
