Team for West Brom???
Okay I have no idea what our team will be I know Pack Williams will be in it but the rest is up in the air and guess work. If I was to guess it would be:
Schmidt
Williams Shaughnessy Bowat Farrell
Pack Kamara
Blair O Mahoney Lang Murphy

Wow! That's quite some change from two weeks ago: Schmidt, Bowat, etc.jam tomorrow wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:29 pm Okay I have no idea what our team will be I know Pack Williams will be in it but the rest is up in the air and guess work. If I was to guess it would be:

Do you really think that JM will be as bold as this?

Of course it could be absolutely anything.

Really can't see Moushino making so many changes all at once against yet another of the teams likely to be pushing for promotionjam tomorrow wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:29 pm Okay I have no idea what our team will be I know Pack Williams will be in it but the rest is up in the air and guess work. In particular virtually a complete new untried defence and so many players totally unproven at this level
I think Lane Swanson and Towler deserve to keep their places based on their overall performances so far
If we play such an inexperienced team it's in my view chucking the towel in and saying let's give up the points just to give unproven players experience in the vague hope they all come good
Those players need to be eased in to assess if they do have the necessary impact as not all will turn out to be good buys

Although I appreciate your point of view and to some extent understand the logic I feel we were outclassed in the last match and it’s probably a case of needs must to address that situation. Possibly not as radical as I have suggested but I think everyone agrees we need to be at least a step up.Pompey55 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 7:52 amReally can't see Moushino making so many changes all at once against yet another of the teams likely to be pushing for promotionjam tomorrow wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:29 pm Okay I have no idea what our team will be I know Pack Williams will be in it but the rest is up in the air and guess work. I agree we were outclassed last game I also think despite the 3 draws we have been outclassed all season which considering the opposition was to be expectedjam tomorrow wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 8:38 amAlthough I appreciate your point of view and to some extent understand the logic I feel we were outclassed in the last match and it’s probably a case of needs must to address that situation. I just have reservations about blooding to many unproven players as a remedy

Re: Team for West Brom???
I don't think we will see wholesale changes but there will have to be some as we are not really that competitive yet. I think Kamara will start next to Pack and I think Mousinho to find a place for O'Mahoney. I think that dropping Towler would send the wrong messages to the rest of the squad as he has played well and deserves to keep his place. I can't say that the defence has coped particularly well in the Championship but it is bearing the brunt of the opposition. This, in my opinion, is because the attack has not been effective enough to take the pressure of of them. We have obviously got to create more in attack so it's in that area where I think we will see the changes.

It'll be interesting to see who starts but I've no idea what changes Mous will make. Pack with Kamara seems likely but that's only going by the buzz. I'll be there for my first game of the season

I'd think more likely we'll see Potts with Pack since he was specifically mentioned in that interview on Solent.

Re: Team for West Brom???
Could be. With Kamara on later as an impact midfielder if needs must. Looking forward to it while definitely not underestimating West Brom. I wanted my first game to be against a decent side.phat_chris wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 9:52 pm I'd think more likely we'll see Potts with Pack since he was specifically mentioned in that interview on Solent.

Re: Team for West Brom???
I would prefer Lane to Ritchie as Ritchie I thought apart from a few dead ball situations against Sunderland was pretty ineffective and Lane also brings a much needed defensive side to his gameBlueinPLtwenty wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 6:58 amI think you have to be pretty close with your selectionPompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 11:25 pm Norris. Re: Team for West Brom???
I concur this looks more like the side JM will put out with Lane included. Although he has looked a bit light weight in previous games. He might consider using Silvera there by swapping Murphy overPompey55 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 7:58 amI would prefer Lane to Ritchie as Ritchie I thought apart from a few dead ball situations against Sunderland was pretty ineffective and Lane also brings a much needed defensive side to his gameBlueinPLtwenty wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 6:58 amI think you have to be pretty close with your selectionPompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 11:25 pm Norris.
