We need a win tomorrow to get out of the relegation spots. And Derby and Oxford near the play offs with three wins each. Ouch!

To early to draw any conclusions from this early in the season as out of the 3 promoted clubs we had by far the most difficult start that anyone could have imagined compared to the other 2

Let's see after 10 - 12 games how we compare to the other 2 who obviously took a totally different approach to us regarding recruitment this summer time will tell who was right

Mous says he doesn’t know his strongest team yet which means we shouldn’t expect too much from the team. In the meantime Oxford spent more than us and got an earlier start and have a more settled side. However Mous was fully prepared to accept this situation to get the players that he wanted. Let’s hope these players don’t let him or us down.

He will know his preferred eleven.

We have had a really tough start to the season, but we have to play them all, that being said is it have been shocked had we currently been on 0/1 point.

Be happy with a point or more tomorrow - plenty of games against direct competition to come.

Actually if you read through the various articles in the snooze this week it's a fallacy that we got the players we wanted at the top of our list in fact it appears that we got fairly down the list
of our targets I would suggest dozy Dozzell is an example of this

Oxford and Derby invested heavily on players for this season we invested in players with "potential" and players with a somewhat mixed experience at this level why for example why were Oxford not prepared to compete with us for Murphy

Our recruitment is quite simply a gamble on unproven players at this level, a couple of loan players who may or may not adapt to this level, a few free transfers who have a somewhat weak experience at this level and Ritchie to keep the clappers singing he's one of our own

Im not drawing any conclusions from the first handful of games. Very tough opposition. Let’s see where we are come November. Then we’ll be able to get a measure of how successful the transfer policy has been. Im still optimistic about our chances once the team has had time to gel. Im excited to see how we play tomorrow with two weeks of the new team training under our belts.

So compared with others we have “done it on the cheap” It’s truly still brick by brick.

I did not say "on the cheap" as we have spent but that we have recruited very much in a speculative manner which is a gamble
From our past experience with players like Hirst and Karama who joined us with limited experience that it took until the new year for them to come good but we had others more experienced to make up for this
My view is that we have too many of this category signed this summer and waiting for them to come good will be too late in particular in midfield and up front
And I quite honestly don't get the Ritchie signing as I can't see him making a reasonable difference when on the pitch apart from his dead ball ability, I see it as a sop to supporters to balance the inexperience of other recruits

Who are the Championship proven players signed by Oxford and Derby?

Vaulks, Harness, Jackson?

Oxford
Sibley from West Brom
Mizouni from Ipswich
Placheta from Swansea
Vaulks from Wednesday
Phillips from West Brom
Dembele from Birmingham although most experience at Blackpool
Ingram from Hull
Ter Avest from Utrecht
Plus 3 academy loans including Scarlett from Spurs
Can't be bothered to do the same for Derby they have 7 signings with championship or above experience 3 of who are loans of established players like Harness rather than academy players only 2 inexperienced loans

Oxford
Sibley from Derby - made about 50 appearances in the championship before two seasons in league one. He's made more league one appearances than championship.
Mizouni from Ipswich - 4 championship appearances. Most of his football league one.
Placheta from Swansea - around 30 appearances in the championship over 3 or 4 years.
Vaulks from Wednesday - yes.
Phillips from West Brom - yes put hasn't made 30 appearances in a season for last 3 years.
Dembele from Birmingham although most experience at Blackpool
Ingram from Hull.

Yet when we signed Murphy, Dozzell and Williams who have similar (or more) levels of championship experience to those mentioned above you discounted it as being relevant.

I don't care if they have championship experience or not, I want players.who are good enough - I think we have signed players who have the attributes to do well this season and improve. We have a good mix of experience and youth - throughout the squad.

It's not going to be easy, but it never was - let's just see what happens over the next few weeks.

Our fixtures have been horrible - let's see where we are end of October.

I don't see how he can when we have so many new players. Some haven't played yet, others have just arrived and some only sub appearances. It's going to take a while before he'll know his preferred starters.

And some have just returned from injury so very much up in the air. Mous has a style of play that he wants the team to work to. The style is similar to how Ipswich play so he will be trying to fit who ever he feels right for that role in his system
