To early to draw any conclusions from this early in the season

My view is that we have too many of this category signed this summer and waiting for them to come good will be too late in particular in midfield and up front
You constantly contradict yourself.
I'm just going to enjoy today as much possible. Fingers crossed for fireworks before kick off
Not a contradiction at all I've said it's to early to judge this early in the season but that we are relying too much on inexperienced players in key positions who could come good but conversely could not thus my view it is speculative and a gamble
And no I have not discounted Murphy Williams and Silvera just raised reservations regarding them
Murphy has a very mixed history got a big money move to Cardiff bombed there then had half a good season in League one at Oxford I've just said it's not certain which version we will get
Williams I pointed out has mostly played as a wing back not a full back and worry about his defensive acumen
Silvera I still maintain is here purely to decide if he's worth Middlesbrough offering a new contract
so far looks talented but predictable and no final ball maybe like Kamara he will through coaching improve on that but with our other signings can't see him being more than a squad pkayer
And please no bl**dy pre- match fireworks maybe on the first match of a new season but that's it for me

Mous says he doesn’t know his strongest team yet which means we shouldn’t expect too much from the team. In the meantime Oxford spent more than us and got an earlier start and have a more settled side. However Mous was fully prepared to accept this situation to get the players that he wanted. Let’s hope these players don’t let him or us down.
Actually if you read through the various articles in the snooze this week it's a fallacy that we got the players we wanted at the top of our list in fact it appears that we got fairly down the list
of our targets I would suggest dozy Dozzell is an example of this
Oxford and Derby invested heavily on players for this season we invested in players with "potential" and players with a somewhat mixed experience at this level why for example why were Oxford not prepared to compete with us for Murphy
Our recruitment is quite simply a gamble on unproven players at this level, a couple of loan players who may or may not adapt to this level, a few free transfers who have a somewhat weak experience at this level and Ritchie to keep the clappers singing he's one of our own
I actually agree with you on this. We haven't got a proven goalscorer at this level which fundamentally is what could be our undoing. Dozell seems a panic buy and unless some of the potential arrivals turn out to be gems, we could struggle. Yengi seems hit and miss, manly miss so far this season, we have a 19 yr old from Brighton who hasn't played any 1st team football and a left sided forward who played in Austria. Why the hell we didn't buy a striker like Alfie May or similar I don't know.
Hopefully I'm completely wrong.

Oxford
Sibley from Derby - made about 50 appearances in the championship before two seasons in league one. He's made more league one appearances than championship.
Mizouni from Ipswich - 4 championship appearances. Most of his football league one.
Placheta from Swansea - around 30 appearances in the championship over 3 or 4 years.
Vaulks from Wednesday - yes.
Phillips from West Brom - yes put hasn't made 30 appearances in a season for last 3 years.
Dembele from Birmingham although most experience at Blackpool
Ingram from Hull.
Yet when we signed Murphy, Dozzell and Williams who have similar (or more) levels of championship experience to those mentioned above you discounted it as being relevant.
I don't care if they have championship experience or not, I want players.who are good enough - I think we have signed players who have the attributes to do well this season and improve. We have a good mix of experience and youth - throughout the squad.
It's not going to be easy, but it never was - let's just see what happens over the next few weeks.
Our fixtures have been horrible - let's see where we are end of October.
Ah but you've missed the point. Let me explain your mistake. By signing a number of players with limited Championship experience, Oxford and Derby have clearly shown that they are heavily investing in their squads. Us, on the other hand, by signing a number of players with limited Championship/higher level experience have demonstrated that we are gambling on potential instead of investing heavily. I hope this explains things so you can better understand and not make the same mistake in the future.

He will know his preferred eleven.
I don't see how he can when we have so many new players. Some haven't played yet, others have just arrived and some only sub appearances. It's going to take a while before he'll know his preferred starters.
Given all the work they goes into signings he will have had an idea of the starting eleven he wanted when piecing together the jigsaw - I suspect.

I don't see Dozzell as a panic buy. He was clearly brought in as a squad player, much in the same ilk as Stevenson last season. This is reflected in the short contract we gave him. As for the striker situation, I think the club were caught by surprise when Bishop's heart condition was identified. The club hadn't been preparing targets for a replacement and probably didn't have the budget required to bring in someone of equal ability to Colby. We'll have to hope we have enough goals throughout the team to tide us over until Colby returns in January. I'd put good money that looking for a quality striker will be top priority for the recruitment team over the next few months.
I actually think the Danish lad looks like a goalscorer. I think he needs to get a bit fitter for the championship though which will come with each passing week.

Agreed. He showed with his goal against Leeds that he can find a good position and has a good first touch. He was very quickly able to get the ball out of his feet and get the shot away. With a better midfield, more able to slide balls into him in those positions, we might see good things from him.

I actually agree that at Leeds he showed an eye for goal but he needs to adapt to the need to be our high press which was what he lacked but that can come from coaching
However he isn't going to get that sort of pass from Pack only and do wonder why he hasn't really been involved since
