FAO Any US Pompey Fans...
We play Sheffield Wednesday on TV in a couple of weeks - it's on sky sports any idea if it will be on in the states and if so what channel? I will be in the US of A at the time and it would be cool to watch it.
Lad time I was in the states we beat Notts County to seal promotion... So the omens are good.
Aware I will be able to buy it and watch on my phone or tablet - but on an actual TV ideally in a bar would be preferential.

I know I'm not a US based fan, but just done a bit of digging and I think it's on CBS/Paramount +

Never watched a Pompey game when I was over in the US, but did go to a sports bar to watch the NFL games on the Sunday afternoon/evening and that was really good!

Thankyou. I discovered the same - think I might have found somewhere, although it's listing no games on that Friday, might have to swing by a few days before, would be rude not to!PeteM wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:35 pm I know I'm not a US based fan, but just done a bit of digging and I think it's on CBS/Paramount +

It wont be on the regular CBS channel...well at least I've never seen championship footy here. Paramount+ is a steaming channel so you should be able to access from a tablet or computer. Maybe even a free trial.

Last time I watched a Pompey game abroad was in Australia 07/08. Pretty sure we lost. Stayed up until about 4 in the morning for that.

I moved over to the US last summer and have been doing a mix of the paramount + coverage and the official team coverage when it’s not on the former. Its good commentary when it’s the only game they show on paramount but if it’s one of two games you may get a guy in his shed commentating on it.

If you go to any half decent sports bar over here and ask they will put on whatever sport you like also.

Pompey are being shown playing against sheff weds on ESPN, which is how I intend to watch it that night in South Africa. They are also showing Plymouth v Pompey on 5th November. I also did see them showing our game against Derby on Friday 13th December but I cannot locate that now. Hope that may help in some way.
Mark Hateley and Alan Biley made my favourite season.

Thanks folks - not sure what we have planned that day but it might now involve a trip to a sports bar...
